Coworking India 2016

Coworking to support the development of the startup and digital freelancers’ nation

With an estimated 15 million freelancers operating within the country, India is second only to the United States in regard to the amount of active independent workers worldwide, making it the perfect environment to let a new coworking industry blossom.

An estimated half a million people working in coworking spaces are spread out amongst more than 7,800 locations worldwide. In India only, hundreds of established coworking spaces are in operation. The number is growing rapidly, making it the perfect time for the leaders of the Indian coworking movement to gather and amplify the conversation.

Coworking spaces are playing a vital role to support the development of the Startup Nation that India is now, as they structure communities of local entrepreneurs locally. They also solve infrastructure and connectivity issues, as well as to facilitate networking and accelerate the development of new projects through accelerator programs.

All of these factors combined directly contribute to the growth of businesses, particularly in areas which are still in their development stages.
